About Plover Cove Country Park Walk

Plover Cove CP lies in northeastern Hong Kong and is a mountainous area with bushy vegetation and forests. The excursion will involve about 2.5 to 3 hours of walking plus rest stops. This 8 km hike from Wu Kau Tang to Sam A Wan involves two gentle climbs of about 80 m and 120 m, one on the outward journey and the other on the return. We will walk through open grasslands, and forests with views over the islands of NE Hong Kong. The return trip follows a short coastal section and a pleasant shady stream. We will also pass through two abandoned villages and a small restaurant, where we may stop briefly. Participants should bring water, snacks and shoes suitable for footpaths.
