Workshop on Activity-Travel Behavior Analysis

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

This workshop aims to bring together academics, researchers and research postgraduates in the field of activity-travel behavior analysis and modeling to share their latest researches. Papers and presentations on various theoretical, methodological and empirical aspects of activity-travel behavior studies are welcome. The purpose of this workshop is to share ideas and experiences and learn lessons from past and on-going research. We welcome papers on both completed and on-going studies. Authors of selected papers may be invited to revise their papers for consideration of publication in a refereed international journal.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Jointly organized by Centre for China Urban and Regional Studies (CURS) and Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies (HKSTS), the Workshop on Activity-Travel Behavior Analysis was held on 13 December 2013. The workshop attracted more than 40 participants from Hong Kong, the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand, Italy, Singapore, and Mainland China. Two parallel sessions were carried out in three time sessions, and a total of 30 papers were presented at the Workshop. The topics of the papers and presentations vary from theoretical, methodological to empirical aspects of activity-travel behavior studies. Professor Harry Timmermans of Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands and Dr Tim Schwanen from the University of Oxford, U.K. delivered keynote speeches at the workshop. Prof. Donggen Wang, organizer of the workshop has been invited to propose a special issue for Journal of Transport Geography for selected papers from the workshop.
