ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Jointly with the Department of Computer Science of Hong Kong Baptist
University, the Centre for China Urban and Regional Studies (CURS)
organized the ¡¥Workshop on Urban and Transport Analytics¡¦, which was
held on March 13th at Hong Kong Baptist University. This
interdisciplinary workshop provided a forum for discussing the
opportunities and challenges in the analysis of big data for urban
and transportation research among colleagues from different academic
backgrounds including geography, urban planning, civil engineering
and computer sciences. Professor Liu Jiming, Associate Vice
President for Research delivered an opening remark and welcomed
participants to the workshop. The workshop attracted almost 40
speakers and participants including academics, practitioners, and
research students from Wuhan University, Hong Kong Polytechnic
University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the
University of Hong Kong, PingAn Technology and Hong Kong Baptist
University. The 15 presentations of the workshop stimulated heated
debates on the state-of-the-art and future developments about
transport analytics, environmental and health analytics, as well as
the techniques and algorithms in data science, etc. The workshop was
successful with meaningful academic exchanges and positive feedbacks
from the attendees.
